I know it is not currently possible to clone the output of HDMI0 port to HDMI1 port, but can the output be diverted to HDMI1? On my "Switch" case I'm going ahead with having the external HDMI output port connected to HDMI1 on the Pi 4 since splitting the HDMI signal from the HDMI0 port won't be possible in such a small case.

I'm hoping a future version of Retropie will allow cloning the output to HDMI1 as well, but being able to change a single output to HDMI1 will do.

System Config: Retropie 4.4 with full desktop, RPi 3B, 256gb SD, 5v 2.1A 5,200 mAH USB battery. EasyMSX controller mounted with Pimoroni Hyperpixel 4 (non touch). Also running 4.6 on a 4gb Pi 4 serving as my primary desktop computer now.

Do you intend to use both ports at the same time ? There's no issue with using the 2nd HDMI port alone, I've being using it in this configuration for quite some time.

I'm hoping a future version of Retropie will allow cloning the output to HDMI1 as well, but being able to change a single output to HDMI1 will do.

I'm not sure if this will be supported without X11/Wayland, which is not used now by RetroPie.

@mitu being able to switch between the two would be ideal.

@VictimRLSH Hm, a quick test shows it's not working at runtime (i.e. without rebooting the device). Maybe fiddling with tvservice would allow this - I'll have a to check more.
