How to read CD games inside their own folder?
-
I keep my CD games collection in a subfolder for each game. I do this because each game has multiple files like a cue file and a bunch of bins. I don't use just one folder for all files.
How can i make Emulationstation see those files in the folders and show them in the menu like normal roms? Other frontends have the option to "see" inside subfolders but i can't find anything here.

@Imgema what cd based system are you referring to? You should look into converting your .bin/.cue files into .chd. That way you have one file per game and don't need sub folders at all.

Some games won't play when converted. You can keep all the files in a folder and direct the .CUE file to look for the files in the folder. I had to do this with Seek & Destroy for the Amiga CD32 and just today I have set up Xenon II - Megablast CDTV in the same way.
PS1 games can be converted to .PBP files which has an additional benefit of reducing the file size.

@George-Spiggott for emulators that support .chd I have never had a problem with them not working. Not saying it isn't possible but it would have to be pretty rare.

Only two games for me so far, Skidmarks 2 and Seek & Destroy, both for Amiga/Amiberry. I didn't convert Xenon 2 so it may well convert fine, I just haven't tried yet.

So i get there is no way for Emulationstation to look into subfolders? I have to convert my whole collection or edit their cues? (not possible to edit them this way, too many files)
I do use Hyperspin/Rocketlauncher/Launchbox already and EmulationStation seem lo lack very basic functions like choosing a simple path for your media files and now this. I managed to find a dirty solution for for the paths but i can't seem to find something for the subfolders. Scrappers don't seem to have anything about them either so that means there's nothing i can do to the gamelist.xml. I really don't want to convert the games because i use a lot of emulators for testing, etc, and not everything is going to be compatible afterwards.
