Epic Noir - Dark Mode Theme

@Lendersmark There is a "famicom" folder and a "FDS" one, I think both are the same and you have roms in both folders. I suggest to move all on a single folder and make the other dissapear.

I managed to edit all the system indicator files and created a 14 systems theme.
AWESOME!I've got 30 on the go now, bloody indicators took me ages. :p

@AdamBeGood
Can imagine creating more will take a lot more time. 😃 I “only” had to remove 2 indicators from my set. -

Good stuff!!
-
Systems "name" are screwed.
I've just downloaded the theme from both setup and github and it looks the same (just in case any was wrong).
16:10 1920x1080, could it be the resolution?

Uhm, sometimes, starting EmulationStation fails with error:
emulationstation: /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/tmp/build/emulationstation/es-core/src/resources/Font.cpp:21: Font::FontFace::FontFace(ResourceData&&, int): Asertion `!err' failed.
-
@daviduco You are having troubles with the bigger system name text. I don´t know why could this be happening
-
@chicuelo it's a retropie buster 4.7.1 fresh install.
Let me check tomorrow on a 1080p screen.
There are no errors in emulationstation log.
-
@chicuelo i've noticed i don't have any png for system in /_art/indicators path.
There's a call in theme.xml to those files for every sytem:
<image name="indicator" extra="true"> <path>./_art/indicators/${system.theme}.png</path> <tile>false</tile> <color>F8F8F8</color> <origin>0 0</origin> <pos>-0.002 0.15</pos> <size>0 0.70</size> </image>
And yes, the bigger system name text works like a charm on a 16:9 screen.
16:10 doesn't like it :(
-
@daviduco Thats strange, maybe you could reduce the size of the font a bit.
In order to run, you have to rename the dot files according to your systems order
-
Love this. However, why is "FAVOURITE" the "X" button?
-
@dirty_monkee I think it was a design mistake. I will fix in some days
-
If you scroll up a little you'll notice I have corrected the X for a Y and uploaded it here.
You can use that one for now or wait until @chicuelo fixes it officially. -
@panja
I found this after I put posting my reply and have used yours, thanks.Is there a way I can remove the indicators altogether as I have more than the allocated systems and can’t be bothered to add more via photoshop/inskape.

@chicuelo
Awesome! Looking forward to your new images. -
I was wondering if someone could walk me through how to rename the .png files so my indicators show up in order. I have gotten to the file manager page that shows the .pngs I need to change and am pressing F6 but get stumped at that point as to what I should do.
-
@cress5 You have to rename the files inside the indicators folder from 1st-system.png to 16th-system.png, Eventually, 1-st-system should match the first system you have listed in your es_systems.xml, 2-nd-system with the second and so...
For example: if mame libretro is the first sistem you see, you have to rename "1-st-system.png" to "mame-libretro.png", if your second system is nes, you will have to rename "2-nd-system.png" to "nes.png"Its very simple, the name of the png indicates the position of the white dot.
NOTICE that if you have more than 16 systems they will lack of indication. -
So I accidentally stumbled across this theme. WOW!!!
I was in the process of switching over to using this theme when ES started crashing. I have a 4GB RPI4 with 39 systems. I did the GPU split and VRAM adjustments but ES sill keeps crashing.
Any ideas
