Un-skraper a.k.a. the Anti-Scraper
-
Typical scraper programs pull metadata from the Internet to add to your EmulationStation menu.
But if you've been using GoodTools or other programs to properly rename all your ROMs then you might want to see box art and meta-data in the menu but not want scraper programs changing the menu item names, because your filenames are already correct and some of the scraped names are wrong. That was my situation and I found it super annoying because I have lots of ROM hacks and translations. That's where my unskraper Python script comes in. After running Screenskraper or some other scraper program, my script will change all the menu item names back to matching the file names, while letting you keep all the rest of the metadata and art.
It uses Python 3. On Windows, there are two files: "unskraper.bat" and "unskraper.py". Just put them in the same folder, and drag your samba-shared gameslist.xml that you want "un-skraped" onto unskraper.bat. Or if you're a smarty-pants then using the Python file by itself will probably work from Linux too.
