IDEA: BFS/Realtime kernels to improve latency/performance?
-
Seen these suggested in a few places, such as http://libretro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5428&page=6
BFS: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=101947
Realtime Kernel: http://www.frank-durr.de/?p=203
Could something like these be applied to the Raspian kernel used in the Retropie image to improve latency/performance? I confess I don't know anything about these sort of kernel changes and what ramifications (positive and negative) they have to our sort of use-case, but perhaps someone does :)

It's based off an old kernel and no update with the new kernel

Im not sure if it applies but they have just added this to lakka: https://github.com/libretro/Lakka/pull/401

Sorry to drag up and old thread but it looks like Lakka have now incorporated this is the latest stable release.

I hope this gets implemented - controller lag is my number one annoyance.
