GPI CaseIssue - lr-vice crashes on load
Hi, vice seems to work fine, but lr-vice just closes back to emulationstation when a game is selected. I have tried the binary. No luck. Updated the script and tried the binary again. No luck. Uninstalled and installed from the source. No luck. Any ideas? I have tried .crt and .tap files (both of which work in vice).

I actually upgraded Retroarch and it now works. However, the new version does not seem to work as well on my little system. I have restored to before I starting messing with vice.
Is it possible that the version of lr-vice that Retropie is pulling is not working friendly with my Retroarch version 1.7.6? If that is the case, is there a way to force a pull of a earlier version of lr-vice?
-
Update both versions from binary - RetroArch should be at version 1.8.5 and not 1.7.6. It might be that the core is expecting a newer RetroArch version, so make sure you update both.
Update the RetroPie-Setup script first, that should be the first step.

I was hoping to stay on Retroarch 1.7.6 if possible as it runs better from my experience on my pi zero. No way to install a older version of lr-vice that is compatible with my version of Retroarch?

Not out-of-the-box.
But what about the RetroArch performance issues - why do you think the older version runs better ? Which - newer - version have you tried ? -
Several issues. My spashscreen video during a reboot slowed to a crawl. Also, several emulators just run at a craw as well. Also, lost all my Stella mapping settings.
No worries, I will just use vice. I just miss the ability to set game specific settings as I would with an lr core.
Thanks for your help as always.
