      I recently built 5 raspberry for friends/collegues and 2 of them are having issues with getting sound through the HDMI/TV, they have even tried multiple TV's and cables.

      I know the devices do work as I always test them on my Samsung Smart TV.

      I know every case can be different but I was just wondering if we disguard the 3.5mm Jack and assume it will never be used, and that everyone will be running the Raspberry through a TV/HDMI, are there some general setting I can add to the config files that will increase the chances of sound playing through the TV for everyone?

      If so can anyone help me with what commands I should be adding to which files?

      Thanks

        I had to add this to the /boot/config.txt/ for audio to work on my tv:

        hdmi_force_edie_audio=1

        If that doesnt work try uncommenting:

        hdmi_drive=2

        Please note they both cant be running at the same time. You have to comment out one when you run the other
