I have installed launching images and they look awesome. But now when I press “A” the game launches (I.e the launching.png image is taken off screen and the game begins), instead of showing me the run command emulator menu.

Any ideas what I can do to access the run command menu?

(The menu is "enabled" - I’ve double checked)
It used to work by pressing “A”, so my 8BitDo Zero Contoller seems fine.

I have looked in the log in dev/shm/runcommand.log and there is a possibility that he joystick selection tool is causing a problem.

There is also a possibility of a segmentation fault although I have no idea how its happened or how to fix it.

So, to be clear, my ROMS are working, but I am unable to access the menu to - for example - change the emulator for a game.

I've tried to remove and reinstall; joystick selection tool, runcommand menu and tried reinstall of retropie.

      Any thoughts..

I haven't made a backup in over a month, I hope its not a reinstall job.

When you enable the launching images for Runcommand, then the menu can be accessed only for a brief moment, after the launching image disappears and before the game starts. Pressing a button while the image is shown will not activate the menu.

I've just had the exact same problem this morning and thought I was going mad!

This is actually a great feature as it provides further protection against guests inadvertantly entering it even after applying Kiosk mode.

            Many thanks Mitu!
