SNES30 controllers with 2.67 firmware. SNES, NES, Attari, Sega everything works as expected. When I start N64 emulator, the controllers work fine in the game; however, when I want to exit the game back to ES, the hotkeys (Select + Start) no longer works. After trying the hotkey combo for some time, the controllers are no longer recognized by Retroarch. I need to remotely trigger a reboot, remove the controllers then repair them. Anyone else encounter this issue?

@yoink backup the mupen64plus.cfg then open it, delete everything in it and save. Also make sure the controllers config file in /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads has start and select as the exit and hotkey buttons.

@edmaul69 I tried this, but still the hot keys don't work. I confirmed start and select exist in the retroarch-joypads. As other emulators work using the hotkeys, I think there's an issue with the mupen64plus emulator.

@yoink is there any .cfg files besides retroarch.cfg in /opt/retropie/configs/n64? Which ones are there? Is there any settings in that retroarch.cfg. There should be a mupen64plus cfg file in there. What does it say the exit buttons are?

@edmaul69 The only other file is emulators.cfg, which only contains graphics settings. I see in /opt/retropie/configs/all/autoconf.cfg has mupen64plus_hotkeys = 1. mupen64plus.cfg doesn't contain any settings for hotkeys. In retroarch-joypads/8BitdoSNES30GamePadJoystick.cfg has input_exit_emulator_btn = "11"

@yoink mupen64plus.cfg should say something like exit or escape then should have something like J0B1/B11. It is not in the controller section. Its in another section above the controller.

@edmaul69 Can you post your mupen64plus.cfg? I see neither in that file. I don't think it's being generated. @BuZz Is this a known issue?

@yoink i fixed it in the last few days. Update RetroPie-Setup and reinstall mupen64

If you have disabled the 8bitdo hack it should work without the fix. The fix was for 8bitdo with old firmware and hack on
