Roll Back update

@Cyborgbob not sure what would be causing a global slow down for you. I have not experienced this after updating recently. Are you running in 4k mode? If so you should reduce the resolution to 1080p mode.
-
I don't think so but I will check that out. Running another update right now to see if that fixes it. But I think you may be on to something there I know after an update sometimes things get set back to defult. I think I changed that setting once.
-
So I adjusted the settings to 1080p as you said, and that helped, however, it is still not where it once was. just seems choppy, and there is still some screen tearing. I also ran another update. Kinda praying that may fix something... It did not...
-
@Cyborgbob is it just retroarch emulators that seem to be slower? I see that retroarch just recently got updated to version 1.8.8.
-
Did you update also via
rpi-update
(not recommended) ?
It's worth removing any overclock and try again. -
@quicksilver it does seem to be the RetroArch emulators. I tried the PSP standalone, and that one seems to run fine.
@mitu I have never done the rpi-update . What is that? Would removing the overclock and doing the normal update help?
Thanks to the both of you for your help.

It's updating to the latest beta kernel/firmware. You don't need to do that.
Would removing the overclock and doing the normal update help?
Yes, remove the overclock and try again.
-
@ mitu thanks so much I will give that a try right now. heading to the airport soon so I will not be able to test it until Sunday night or Monday. Thank you for your help. I will let you know if this helps when I get back.
-
So I gave this a try and it did not help. Any ideas on anyting more I can do?
-
Are you using a 4k TV ? Try forcing an 1080p resolution - use
raspi-config
to set it.
