Manually edit Retroarch configurations not working in setup menu
-
Hi! I need help. I must have done something wrong because inside the retropie setup menu, when I select Manually edit Retroarch configurations or ANY of the "Manually edit" menu options, it just pauses for a second and then comes back to the menu at the top.
Any thoughts on what I did? :) I have retropie running on Ubuntu.
Thanks if you have had this happen and know the answer!-Jester

@xjestersdeadx By the way, I have also reinstalled setup and redid the basic install and core packages, and updated everything. Trying to figure out what on Earth I did that screwed this up.

The RetroPie-Setup actions are logged in
$HOME/RetroPie-Setup/logs
, try opening one of the recent logs and see if any error pops-up.
If you run the setup script from a separate terminal, does editing work ? You can start the setup script by runningcd $HOME/RetroPie-Setup sudo ./retropie_setup.sh

@mitu Thanks I will look at the logs. I am running it from a terminal, yes.

Okay, here is the errors in the log:

Looks like an error from here.
Can you show a screenshot of the listing before the editing, where you have the list of configuration files to edit ? -
@xjestersdeadx getting the same error. Did you manage to fix?

I had this same error and I have a pretty good feeling it is due to a bezel project install.
Everything seems to be working fine, so I don’t know how much I really care… I can still edit the raw config file if I have to.

That might be the cause and it's worth investigating. For which systems did you install the bezels ?
