      Hello,

      I´m trying to update my Pi 3 (already done it with Pi 4)
      I installed Retropie 4.6, I updated the script to 4.6.1, but everytime I shutdown my Pi 3, I get the following message:
      "A stop job is running for dhcpcd on all interfaces" and it delays the shutdown about two minutes, any idea how to avoid that?

      Thanks

        I tried a fresh install again, I updated Retropie script to 4.6.1, Emulationstation, to 2.9.3. Updated too Raspibian tools and Installed Kodi and Pixel desktop, and again the problem appears, seems like a bug, not sure.20200620_014141.jpg

          Try using raspi-config and disable the 'wait for network on boot' option (see https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/45769/how-to-wait-for-networking-on-login-after-reboot).

            Thanks, that fixed! :) Guess it was the Raspbian update I did.

              Hope it's ok to reply here instead of creating a new topic about this...

              I'm on RetroPie 4.7.1 on a RP3. I change this option as advised and I STILL have to wait 1 min 30 seconds to shutdown.

              Been researching this for a couple hours actually and haven't found a fix... happened on two builds so far... (my RP4 has been fine for some reason).

                  Will surely do next time, thank you (didn't know how this forum handles bumping topics for the same issue).

                  No need though. Spent these last ~2 hours researching and trying everything I could find... found the solution that worked for me: turns out it's somehow the PS3 controller driver causing this shutdown issue (so now both the PS3 and Xbox360 drivers cause issues lol - haven't been able to use xboxdrv for years now either unfortunately - glad the generic Xpad works great!).

                  Tried the fix on the 2nd effected RP3 (which I didn't try anything else on) and it fixed it first reboot as well.

                  Found it talked about here so I tried it on a whim after a dozen other 'fixes' not working – glad I did!

                    @mitu

                    I can confirm the problem is still present in Retropie 4.8, is caused by the PS3 joystick driver and with Pi 3 only, the Pi 4 version, doesnt happen this. Thanks
