Libpng-dev not installed x86
-
Hiya I'm using mint Linux 18.3 on my hp thin client on a 250gb HDD the initial setup of reteopie went well following the instructions on the guide for x86
Trouble is, when I go to install most emulators that I want. I'm getting the message libpng-dev is missing, I have managed to install lr-snes9x but the PS1 emulators and N64 both stop straight away, such a shame because it installed so well up untill this point
-
So I tried this to no help

That's because the setup script thinks you're using a more recent version of Ubuntu/Debian, but 18.3 is based on Ubuntu 16.04, which is a bit older. Should be fixable, but why are you using such an old distro instead of a current Linux Mint/Ubuntu release ?
-
This should be fixed now, but you should upgrade as advised. We cannot support such old versions and you will likely run into things that don't work.
-
Come to think of it, maybe the reason for such an old distro is the HW - is it 32 bit only ? LinuxMint 19 has a x86 installer, then you can upgrade to the latest version from the existing installation.
-
@mitu yeah the processor is restricted to 32bit. I'll get some blank dvds thanks
-
@BuZz thank you. I'm really sorry I thought this was a newer release,
