Fast forward and button press

Hello, is it possible to use fast forward (hold) and normal A press at the same time?
I like to mash A through text and battles at fast forward speed, so is there a way to fast forward without the hotkey, or alternatively press A in hotkey mode?
I suppose I could use the toggle but using hold would be much better

Any solution to this? I'm using an xbox 360 controller and I'm on retropie 4.6 for rpi4
