      I got the LD game Firefox working on a PI4 and using Mame2010. It is running at 45 to 55 FPS. I have not overclocked my PI4. Any tricks to squeeze out a little more power to get it to run at 60 FPS?

      Thanks :)

        Although my opinion on overclocking is not to do it without good reasons, this may be one. (Why) Isn't that an option for you?

        By the way, reading your topic's title, I wondered why the web browser Firefox wouldn't work before on a Pi 4. 😉

          @Clyde Thanks! Yes I meant Fire Fox. Lol. Overclocking is an option that I can look into. I was just wondering if anyone has got been in a similar situation and might have changed some core settings to get a 10-20% boost. Thanks!

            So I know there are a ton on Pro’s and Con’s to overclocking, so I went with the settings below and got Fire Fox running 100%. Just wanted to share.

            Using a fan and heatsinks.
            over_voltage=6
            arm_freq=2147
            gpu_freq=750

              @challenger2010 did you give a try to lr-mame2016 + emulated cpu downclocking ? (see https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/26807/deathsmiles-on-lr-mame2015-any-performance-tips/111)

                Hello there. New user here.

                With much thanks to the OP for the configuration settings. I now have Firefox running under Retropie on a 4gb PI4, overclocked to 2.0ghz, GPU 750mhz, overvolted to 5.9v as part of #ProjectPtchika

                For interest, Project Ptchika is an exercise in downscaling. As noone else is making a 1/4 scale Firefox cabinet, I thought I'd give it a stab.

                So far, as you can see below it is running sweet as a nut under MAME 2010, pulling the CHD file from a USB3 connected SSD rather than a USB penstick which cant deliver the data quick enough. Using a mouse to fly it rather than the PS3 controller is a lot easier, but still nothing beats a yoke and never will.

                Now the electronics are just about sorted the fun bit can begin with taking accurate measurements of UR000343 (upright) which I am lucky enough to co-curate with a friend.

                Once again, much thanks to the OP for the overclock settings. Made life so much easier.

                  @ProjectPtchika Hello, how did you get the yoke to work as a mouse in Mame2010. Mine would not come back to center. Did you use Xboxdrv????

                  Thanks for your help

                    It's the built in one in Retropie. MAME 2010 just detected it automatically. Plug and play.

                      @ProjectPtchika Maybe it’s updated? I could not get it to work with a Alan-1yoke controller. I had to go to advmame as it would not respond when the controller would return to center. Is it working with Star Wars too?
