      pi Model or other hardware: Raspberry Pi 3 Model B Rev 1.2
      Power Supply used: 2.5A wall plug
      RetroPie Version Used: 4.6.1 on stretch. (updated the script never updated the OS)
      Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website

      i know this was brought up back a few months ago. but im getting the same thing.
      just a black screen.
      i have looked at the wiki and followed what it says. but there is just the mouse pointer.
      i have 3 games all in the folders.

      and looking at this it seems that is has started just fine. just nothing on screen

      not sure whats going on here and i have tried building from source and install from binary

      RPi3B+ / 200GB/ RetroPie v4.5.14, RPi4 Model B 4gb / 256gb / RetroPie 4.8.2

            @ExarKunIv That wasn't an issue with cgenius, the user was just missing the game files.

              @mitu yes i did see that, but its still a black screen.

              as for the log file. what i have posted it the whole thing from the runcommand.log

                    Try modifying the cgenius.cfg file in /opt/retropie/configs/ports/cgenius and change

                    fullscreen = false

                    to

                    fullscreen = true

                    See if this fixes the problem.

                      @mitu so that seemed to fix the problem with my pi4 with 4.6.
                      but my pi3 with 4.5 its still a black screen.

                      very odd. ill keep messing with the config.

                        I've run some more tests on the Pi3 and it seems there's some regression with the most recent version. A workaround - until we find a solution - is to set OpenGL = false in the same configuration file.

                          its kinda funny i thought i did change it to false before. oh well i have it working now. thank you
