I setup a retropie for my kids this past week and it seems to be working fine with 2 controllers from my son's PS4. Everything seems to be working except for one thing - if we come back to the machine after any period of time, it's a blank, unresponsive screen. No buttons seem to wake it up. I have to unplug it and restart every time. This makes it unusable for the kids, they're not going to wait for it to boot every time they want to play Frogger.

Can somebody tell me what "sleep" modes are at work here? Is the thing asleep and it's just because I don't have a keyboard connected that it's not getting the signal to wake up? Wondering what my options are here. I'm ok leaving the Pi on all the time but I want something where the kids change the input on the tv and the game is there waiting for them (or just a few seconds away).

      Thanks!

If the controllers are wireless then they probably go to sleep and don't send any button presses to the Pi. If the Pi goes to sleep the controllers won't wake it up.
