(REQUEST) Add Daphne Singe emulator?
-
Hey @shavecat,
It bears repeating that maddog is a singe game. The log informs that you are still running daphne instead of singe. Also, you seem to be mixing up some of the advice you've been given. Maybe we can unravel this a bit.
I'd recommend you stick with the maddog.sh approach, but you'll need to fix up a few things.
Change maddog.sh include the full path to your singe executable folder. Something like:
cd /opt/retropie/emulators/singe ./run.sh maddog
The above assumes you installed singe in the folder listed. Change accordingly.
Add a singe line to emulators.cfg:
singe = %ROM%
When you try to run the .sh file from EmulationStation, you'll need to interrupt the loading process once and change the emulator to singe. Do not use daphne for maddog.
Also (double-checking) if you created an entry for singe in es_systems.cfg, or are adding to daphne, be sure to include .sh (and optionally .SH) to the extensions line... This will ensure the .sh files appear in EmulationStation. Something like this:
If extending Daphne:
<extension>.daphne .sh .DAPHNE .SH</extension>
If you added a new Singe system, it may look something like this:
<extension>.singe .sh .SINGE .SH</extension>
or simply:
<extension>.sh .SH</extension>
Then restart EmulationStation so the change takes affect,
This should get you closer. It may or may not solve everything.

@roslof
Thanks again
so i did all that
still going just the same to emultiosation .
runcommand.infodaphne singe /media/usb0/roms/daphne/singe/maddog.sh "/media/usb0/roms/daphne/singe/maddog.sh"
runcommand.log
``` -
@shavecat Permission denied typically means you don't have the execute flag set.
sudo chmod +x maddog.sh
@roslof said in (REQUEST) Add Daphne Singe emulator?:
sudo chmod +x maddog.sh
That won't work if the
.sh
file is on a FAT32 system, the executable bit (x
) is ignored.Try moving the
.sh
locally, on the sdcard, and make it exeutable there. Of course, the.sh
path that starts the game should be adjusted. -
@mitu Good catch. I think adding the "exec" option on fstab is also an alternative.
If you can get back to this point:
trying SO im getting the daphne emulator finally ! but with SINGE GOT AN ERROR =( could not open the VLP2 dynamic library (file not found maybe ? ) Progress ! :)](link url)
Then I have a solution for making the shared libraries available globally, although it's a little brutal:
echo "/home/pi/singe" | sudo tee -a /etc/ld.so.conf.d/singe.conf sudo ldconfig
This is, of course, assuming you still have those *.so files in /home/pi/singe - or change as appropriate...
Then try again....
To revert, if this has bad consequences, just:
sudo rm /etc/ld.so.conf.d/singe.conf sudo ldconfig
so still the same :
Not sure what you're expecting - isn't your ROMs folder on the USB stick, which is still a FAT32/non-Linux file system ?
-
@mitu
i did a new sh file still...
and i have a lot of sh files on my harddrive for msdos games the work just fine ... (if its related )
@DirtBagXon
can i run it after that from the emulationstaion ? and not from the cmd ?
Im guessing for now i will wait for maybe a proper install .
dont really get it working :\ -
If you can get the game working from the command line, then it is just a matter of translating the same call format into the script called by emulationstation (?).
I don't believe anyone has taken on the task of converting this to a RetroPie plugin, and everyone thus far has made custom scripts to work in their own unique environments, welcome to the world of open source.
Of course this requires the knowledge to navigate your way around the required scripting.
At this point I think it may be a good idea for you to either:
- Learn, and experiment with, the required scripting by looking at existing scripts and figuring out what they do etc.
- Wait until someone picks up the task of making singe a supported plugin (if indeed that does happen).
Sorry I couldn't get it working for you....
@DirtBagXon
OMG ! OMG !!!
IT DID WORK !!!echo "/home/pi/singe" | sudo tee -a /etc/ld.so.conf.d/singe.conf sudo ldconfig
Working like Charm !!
thank u so much !!!! <3333 !!!!now for get the sh working from the es.
@DirtBagXon
OMG ! OMG !!!
IT DID WORK !!!Interesting, so this means (in your environment) LD_LIBRARY_PATH is being ignored.
So glad it's finally working for you...
@DirtBagXon
Thanks u so much ! again !
now i have the issue with the sh file hahah :
Thanks u so much ! again !
now i have the issue with the sh file hahah :)You can't put a linux executable script on a partition that is vfat (MSDOS)
sudo mount | egrep -i 'vfat|msdos' | awk '{print $3}'
Should show you where you cannot locate the scripts.....
-
pi@retropie:~ $ sudo mount | egrep -i 'vfat|msdos' | awk '{print $3}' /boot pi@retropie:~ $
and again i have already .sh files on my msdos games and the are all on my usbharddirve and working .
-
sudo mount | grep usb0
-
pi@retropie:~ $ sudo mount | grep usb0 /dev/sda1 on /media/usb0 type fuseblk (rw,nodev,noexec,noatime,user_id=0,group_id=0,default_permissions,allow_other,blksize=4096) pi@retropie:~ $
noexec
So not sure how you have other scripts, unless they are symlinked...
@DirtBagXon
