C64 emulator questions

Running a raspberry pi 4 with the stock image from here
Standard power supply that came with the raspberry pi using
argon one raspberry pi 4 case
OS on a 64GB SD card
ROMs and scrape data on a 526 USB drive
Logitech Bluetooth keyboard mouse combo.I hadn't played the commodore 64 since rebuilding the system with a raspberry pi 4 and I loaded up a couple games and I noticed on lr-vice everything worked perfectly with the exception of the s key working at the space key and only registering as the letter s once every 5 to 15 keystrokes but the rest of the keystrokes counting as a space. I tried using a wired USB keyboard with the same effect.
Tested both keyboards on other emulators and the keyboard worked perfectly everywhere except lr-vice.
Loaded up the raspberry pi 3B+ and had the same problem with the S key on a completely separate Bluetooth keyboard and that's the only key I had a problem with using a physical keyboardSwitched over to vice using vice-x64 but the colors slightly off and now that I've noticed it it's going to bug me .played with the color setting but never managed to get it perfect.
So anyone have a suggestion on the s key from r lr-vice or the color setting on vice .

Just remembered the c64 had different colors between pal and ntsc changed the default to ntsc on vice now it matches my memory.
still not sure why the letter s acts up on a physical keyboard in lr-vice
