Hi newbie to all this, can someone please help. If I understand correctly, build a pie, and put retropie image on SD

      1. do the ROMs for different consoles go in different folders ie 1 for Atari, one for N64 etc
      2. what is a typical ROM size I guess they vary by console
      3. what size micro SD card is recommended, asking how much space for basic software leaving x? Gigabytes for games, is 64GB SD card too big or not big enough
      4. is this card compatible / good enough SanDisk from Amazon SDSQUAR-064G-GN6MA

        1. Yes

        2. From less than 1 kilobyte to over 1 Gigabytes

        3. I started with a 32GB which is plenty for Arcade Games ... as soon as you add consoles, well, i got a 64GB card which lasted a month before i got a RPI4 and was able to add even More Consoles .. picked up a 128GB card. Will see how long that lasts ;) ... prob end up using a hard drive for game next and just use a smaller SD Card for the Retropie OS

TLDR: SD Card Size will Depend on what systems/consoles you intend on playing.

Oh, and if you compress you roms/images (ie. i have compressed all my PS1 games to PBP format and Dreamcast/3DO/Sega Saturn games to CHD format ... saves a TON of space !)

        1. Yeah, should be fine .. all my cards a Sandisk
