@ZzackK actually setup and ports have no background, this is why we see it as black background

@Lendersmark Raspberry pi4 will be good hardware for background for setup ;)

Another thing. Can I ask for alternative background for Amiga with model A500?

            Hi!

            Best theme I ever seen!

            But...

The "Lite" version doesn't work in Recalbox 7.1 , or I can't make it start, I remain stuck y the ghosts screen, EmulationStation doesn't start.

Can it be adapted to Recalbox 7+? And a 4:3 version could be posible?

            Thanxs!

Sorry @dwarf, I don't use RecalBox at all so I wouldn't even know where to begin. I merely adapted @Frakatchoo's original theme to display static images instead of videos. Someone with the time and RecalBox knowledge would have to pick up the torch and work on it.

Great theme, really awesome! And thanks for Lite version! I miss some systems, for example, I have separated MSX1, MSX2 and MSX+ and I have separated "Amiga600", "Amiga600" and "Amiga1200", I took MSX and rename to MSX1, but I miss "MSX2+", "MSX TurboR", "GX4000", "Amiga500", "Amiga600" and "Amiga1200", I have logos and other media for all this systems (and more), but the awesome backgrounds are far of my design skills.

@claudiomet Answer me to myself: I added missed systems downloading videos from launch box and usin vector logos from another themes, now only miss Amiga CDTV because there are no video on launchpad downloads.

                    Edit: Added CDTV!

Use this one, it's much better:

                            Coleco works > es_systems.cfg <theme>coleco</theme>
And I made fast backgrounds for port and retropie:

                              Hi everyone,
                              I'm using Recalbox 7.1.1 on a X64 laptop.
I've understood i need to install a special version of emulatiostation to make it work on Recalbox. But i don't know how and if i can with the device/OS i use. I would appreciate a little help from someone.
                              Thanks.

@mamoles Recalbox, AFAIK, uses a builroot based Linux, which can't be modified - so you can't install new applications and their EmulationStation fork is specifically designed to work for their system. Replacing their version of EmulationStation is not feasible.
If you don't want to use RetroPie, then you can try Batocera, I think their version of EmulationStation might be compatible with this theme and the OS is closer to Recalbox than Retropie.

I've installed the Nostalgia Lite theme on my Retropie. So far, everything seems working fine except the Colecovision section doesn't display properly. I've attached an image here of what it looks like vs how another console that is displaying correctly looks.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what I could do to get Colecovision to display correctly?

@zzackk Thanks, but I'm not sure I understand. Is this a file I need to create? Or should it already exist and I just need to add that line?

                                            @GeekOB and @Frakatchoo

Great work on this theme! Looks amazing and by far my favorite from anything I've seen online.

I just built a new RetroPie on a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B 4GB and wanted to showcase the work @GeekOB did on getting this to run on a RetroPie / RPi.

It looked great! ... but I had some issues with it loading the background screen files for each system and it just overall ran a little sluggish for me. Looking at this thread, it seemed like I may not be the only one experiencing that.

I took a look and noticed the those PNG files seemed to be pretty big - each coming in (on average) over 1mb. I went ahead and compressed those images down - about 50% each and tried it again and it runs much better! Hard to tell a difference with the compression and the theme now runs much snappier on my setup.

For anyone else wanting to give this incredible theme a go on a similar setup (Retropie on RPi 4 B 4GB) here is a link to download the compressed background files:

                                            https://drive.google.com/file/d/1I6iVnFZeEyp_lf3zU1ifcS2qAIbwhnMd/view?usp=sharing

Download is just shy of 50mb.

Simply replace the files in the /_assets/backgrounds folder and go it go!

                                            Thanks again, everyone!
