Raspberry pi 4 B crashes after playing any game for a few min.

I have the raspberry pi 4 b with 4gb of ram with a canal starter kit so i have the fan and the heat syncs and open air case so i know its not over heating but after playing any game for longer than about 10 min it will crash and my screen will turn black and my rp4 will take a power off and on to start up again and ive made sure everything is prorperly installed and updated about 4 times and i cant find anything online to be a fix and im not even playing crazy games im mainly playing pokemon emerald and pokemon stadium so i really cant understand what could be causing these crashes. Any help would be so much appreciated and thank you for your time to read this :)

Are you running RetroPie from the Raspbian desktop ?
