I've ran into xbox 360 wireless controller issues when upgrading to 4.0 beta from 3.7. Up and down (y-axis) using the left joystick doesn't work when playing games. I've tried the fix from this thread but no luck.
How would I go about downgrading to 3.7 which was a stable and worked for me?

If this is your only problem, it's probably a better idea to continue trying to troubleshoot it rather than move backwards. Can you past the contents of
/etc/rc.local?
