Internet connection issues post update
-
So I am trying to connect to Netplay in order to play some games with my buddy. We are having a devil of a time, continuously running up against the dreaded "Cannot find matching content blahblah" error. So I decided to update EVERYTHING to make sure that we were running the same versions (he is on a PC, running RetroArch 1.9.0 while I am on my Pi4, running 1.8.8).
I went into Retropie Setup and did every single update available. I also went to the command line and updated Retroarch from there.
Now, the Pi will not connect to WiFi. It will not even find the network as listed when I try to connect through Retropie (I can see the network when I run the Debian GUI, but cannot connect). The WiFi itself is fine, as I am literally posting this from my laptop connected to the WiFi, as are our phones. It was connecting perfectly prior to the updating (Netplay is an entirely separate issue). Something about the updating process messed something up. Are there any known conflicts? How can I go about even beginning to troubleshoot this?

The only thing that would have a say in this are the kernel/firmware updates. What kind of Wi-Fi setup do you have (2.5ghz, 5ghz) ?
As a diagnostic, run
dmesg | sudo tee /boot/dmesg.txt
and post thedmesg.txt
- you can read it from the PC if you put the sdcard in.
