Neo Geo Black Screen

I'm in the process of adding my neogeo roms to my pi4 that I've had backed up from a previously pi3b image. I have all the bios and roms that I've used before that worked without issue. I have the same previous bios in the bios folder and the neogeo roms folder, but for whatever reason I can't get a single neogeo game to boot using lr-fbneo. lr-fbneo was also the same emulator I used before without issue. I'm signed into retro-achievements and the achievements show up, but not the game.
Anyone have any idea what could be going on?

you should really enable verbose logging with the runcommand when launching a game and then check the .log file (or post the contents here) to provide clues to what the problem could be.

Where does the log file get saved?
Also I figured it out I went into the quick menu -> Neo-Geo Mode -> Use MVS Mode
I didn't have to do that last time so I got confused but all the games seem to be working now. Thank you! -
