    retropie only worked once and now just refuses to do anything.

      so I have a raspberry pi 4 that usually works fine for what I need it to do. recently, I stopped needing to use it as much, so I took out the sd card, formatted it and removed Raspberry Pi OS, and installed RetroPie. I plugged in the usb-c and the micro hdmi and everything worked and asked me to confirm my control pad. Without really thinking, I pressed f4 (bad move on my part) and it said I was using a keyboard, then immediately took me to a command prompt and without any input turned off (or at least stopped outputting any video). My first thought was to unplug the usb-c and plug it back in because that worked when I was setting up my raspberry pi for the first time with NOOBS. also I did not use NOOBS to set up RetroPie, I used the Raspberry Pi Imager in version 1.4. anyways, when I plugged back in the usb-c, my keyboard, mouse, and ps4 controller (all of which were connected to the raspberry pi, obviously) lit up but the tv didnt display anything. I unplugged and plugged back in the usb-c again, same deal. so then I unplugged the usb-c, took out the sd card, plugged it back in, and it displayed an error message saying that it didnt detect a micro sd card, as its supposed to, so I know it wasnt anything with the micro hdmi to hdmi cable. Then i formatted the sd, downloaded the Raspberry Pi OS using the Raspberry Pi Imager and put the sd back into my raspberry pi and it worked. so now I took out the sd card, formatted it and downloaded RetroPie again with the Raspberry Pi Imager, and the same thing happened. My keyboard, mouse, and ps4 controller lit up, but no video. How can I fix this?

      edit: thought I should mention I have a Raspberry Pi 4B.

        Insert the SDcard in your PC and modify the config.txt on the boot partition that shows up. Add a line at the end of the file:

        hdmi_safe=1

        and then try to boot RetroPie again. Do you get an image on your TV ?

          @mitu yeah i saw that on the raspberry pi fourms. I set it to that already, and nothing happened.
