Some of you may have seen my other posts about games on retropie not launching. I dont know how it used to work, but now they just dont. I figured out that it's because lightdm and emulationstation cannot be open at the same time. So to get the games running, I need to run sudo systemctl lightdm stop ; emulationstation ; sudo systemctl lightdm start. The problem is I want this to be done in one swift move. I followed andrew oakley's tutorial on the .desktop file, but when I launch it the screen just goes black. I can either (ctrl + alt +) f1 for terminal, or f7 for desktop, but nothing happens by itsself. Is there a different way to go about this? It's pretty important that I get this working somewhat soon, and it can only be done through the desktop. (please guys, I get that the way I'm doing this is weird, but it's my specific use case, and I had it working once before so I know its possible. Please dont tell me to do it another way, unless you think that way will work for me specifically.) Any help would be appriciated

Edit: Apparently all of that was pointless. I just enabled terminal in my desktop file for retropie and now everything is fine and dandy.
