I can’t seem to get shaders to consistently “stick.”

I can turn on a shader in the retroarch menu while a game is running; I save that “preset” and when I go back to the retro pie menu and re-run the game — no shaders.

      If I set it as a per-core override — also doesn’t save.

If I sent it as a content directory override — doesn’t save.

      Any ideas?

What shader preset are you trying to save ? What version of RetroArch/RetroPie ?

Latest Retropie 4.6 with all updates installed. installed from SD image. RPi4.

Trying to associate ZFAST CRT shader with pretty much all of my games (excepting vector games). I plan to use this shader for Arcade, C64, SegaCD, etc. - anything that would have been on a CRT in the real world.

Excepting DAPHNE because I have hi-def video clips for those games.

Whats the easiest way to make ZFAST CRT the default for all games and override it for vector and Daphne?

You can probably use the Configuration Editor and set the shader for all libretro based emulators. Daphne is not a libretro emulator, so the settings wouldn't apply anyway.
