      Hello, I'm writing because I'm gettin my a** kicked by this. I'm running the latest Retropie in a Raspberry Pi 3.

      Guys, I tried everything.

      My config.txt has all the usual suspects set:

      hdmi_drive=2
      hdmi_force_hotplug=1
      hdmi_force_edid_audio=1

      I'm not advanced on Linux, so I simply don't know what else I can change to fix this. Is there a kind soul able to help?

        after an hour of research I fixed mine

        Try running this first

        amixer cset numid=3 2 (there is a space between 3 and 2)

        if that doesn't work try this before

        sudo apt-get update
        sudo apt-get upgrade
        sudo apt-get install alsa-utils
        sudo modprobe snd_bcm2835

        good luck

          @jimkazama It's solved. I'm embarassed to admit that I dumbly forgot to uncomment somethings in the config.txt.

          Thanks for the tip, nonetheless.
