      Hello everyone,

i searched a while but didn’t find anything that helps.
90% of my trained WHD games on Amiga don’t allow me to activate the trainers, because the workbench screen where you can activate the trainer skips after 0,3 seconds.
I already played with some machine settings in Amiberry but nothing helped.
I use the latest Retropie Image for the Pi4 and load the games with Amiberry.
Don’t get me wrong, the games are working well, no issues with that.

      Two examples.
Last Ninja 3, the workbench screen stays for 15 sec., i can activate the trainer.
Shadow of the Beast, the workbench screen pops and disappears after 0,3 seconds, not a chance to click everything.

I hope someone can help here.
Thanks in advance, and sorry but I’m not a native English speaking guy.

        hi @BlackrifleOA15!

For the time being, I'd recommend you to set the CUSTOM parameters straight into a .uae as explained by @alchemist on that thread.

Also more info from the official wiki (especially where to find the various CUSTOM parameters):
        https://github.com/midwan/amiberry/wiki/WHDLoad-Auto-booting#setting-additional-whdload-optionscustom-settings

        hope this helps.

@nemo93 Thanks for the suggestion. I tried to do what @alchemist suggests, but there is no custom .uae created when i load the game, switch to the Amiberry GUI and save the configuration.
I achieved a little progress as i edited the default.uae file which is located in the roms/amiga folder.
It still ignores that i set the parameter for button press but now i have 10 to 15 seconds to react.

It would be really nice though if i could find out how to create this custom .uae files.

Many thanks for the help so far

@blackrifleoa15 unless you've changed something to your Amiberry or Retropie setup whenever you go to Amiberry GUI > Configurations > Save a .uae file will be created under the configs\amiga directory. It's located there <Retropie>\configs\amiga\amiberry\conf and the file should be named after your WHD package. That file is also added to the list in Amiberry GUI > Configurations panel.

If you don't see it added then something is wrong with your setup (perhaps no write permission in the amiga configs for some reason?).

@nemo93 i already searched that path for the custom .uae. There is nothing in there, except standard a500.uae files. Whats strange is that when i go to the UI of Amiberry and then configurations its always the default.uae shown so when i save, i save always the default.uae located in the amiga roms folder. Maybe i should delete this file after i backed it up to see how Amiberry behaves?

@blackrifleoa15 something's wrong in your picture. In the <Retropie>\configs\amiga\amiberry\conf there should be at least 2 .uae files and no default.uae. Those 2 files are rp-a500.uae and rp-a1200.uae which come whenever you install Amiberry with Retropie. I suggest you install Amiberry from source to get the latest version and fresh versions of those files. So we have the same environment. Go to Retropie Setup, update it and find Amiberry in the list of emulators and select install from source.

When everything works as expected whenever you go to Amiberry GUI > Configurations the name of currently running package should appear as the filename to save. If you have a different filename that's weird. Amiberry does need .uae and WHD package to be named exactly the same way otherwise nothing will happen.

Eg. let's assume you'd like to setup some CUSTOM parameters for the following WHD package which is named after ChaosEngine_v2.1_AGA_1324.lha. Let's run the game with Amiberry and once in there go to Amiberry GUI and change some settings to your liking. Once done go to Configurations panel. On the lower end of the screen the filename proposed by default should be ChaosEngine_v2.1_AGA_1324.uae. If you hit Save button that file will be saved in <Retropie>\configs\amiga\amiberry\conf. Quit the game. You can now edit directly the .uae file to change/add whatever you need. Next try to run the game again and parameters you have set will apply.

                  @nemo93 Hi Nemo
i deleted the default.uae from the roms directory and now i'm able to create custom .uae files for all games. Also now i have plenty of time to select the Trainer options for each game.
I'm 100% sure i created this default.uae file before i started to use WHD Load games for the Amiga.
Without your advice it have took me ages to figure out.
Now my problem is solved and i thank you very much for your help.
                  Stay healthy pal.
