Do i need to order a SD Card for Pi400?
-
Hi
I have just ordered the Pi400 complete kit, and it says it comes with a 16gb Micro SD Card pre-programmed with Raspberry Pi OS.
Would i be able to use this card to install retropie on? I only really want Retropie to run on this so is it just a case of putting SD card into a computer, deleting whats on there and then putting Retropie on as per instructions?
Or will i need the operating system thats on this SD card and should i get a new one?

You can just use the card that come with the kit. The RetroPie image contains the Operating System it needs to run so there is no need to keep what is on the included card. As you said you can just plug it into the PC and overwrite the RetroPie image per the install instructions. -
@yfzdude Thank you...i thought this was the case but nice to have it confirmed :-)

@chris3535 The 16GB card will work fine, but be aware space can quickly get used. I'd recommend 64GB or 128GB. Maybe even 256GB.

You could also connect an SSD via USB and then run your ROMs from it.

@chris3535 You can also set up the RetroPie manager to manage RetroPie within your browser.
