Change control seetings
-
Ok I have tried to figure this out but it seems beyond me. I have a Ibuffalo controller setup through emulationstation, I see that retroarch just takes the controls from there which is fine for SNES. However for the NES I don't like the default layout,
I want Y = B
B = A
X = B
A = ACan some either write this out with all the other settings so I can paste it in the .cfg file or any other help? Thanks

You could try core input remapping
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/RetroArch-Configuration#core-input-remapping -
All you really need to do is raise the RGui from within the game by pressing 'Select+X', go into the 'Quick Menu' and then to 'Controls'. From there you can do exactly as want by remapping one button to another. When you are done, remember to select the option to save a 'core map' from the same menu and your new mapping will launch automatically the next time a NES game is launched. This can also be done on a game-by-game basis, you'll just need to select the option to save a 'game map' instead.
Edit: I always hate to reiterate a previous posting, but it wasn't showing when I replied. The github link above likely explains the process in more detail anyway.

The .cfg file changes the controls in the RGUI menu as well.
Core remap file do not. That is why core remaps are nice. I believe they are .rmp files(?) instead of .cfg files.
