RetroPie setup menu bug

When I click on RetroPie setup in the RetroPie menu list it turns into a black screen and then I have to wake it up by hitting the space bar in my keyboard. Then when I select Manage Packages it goes back to the main screen and kicks me out of the RetroPie setup menu. Then I have to redo the process for it to let me in Manage Packages. Is this common with any of you guys?

I have the same problem after latest update....Of Retropie, to get back into the setup I have to SSH into my retropie to run stuff like see about wifi or just anything I try in Setup menu in ES
