Original Xbox Controller - Is it supported?

Hi Folks,
I am new to the Retropie forum, just coming off a weekend of playing Tetris on the NES (using super-cheap USB SNES-style controllers that I purchased on Amazon - turns out they are quite rubbish). Nonetheless I next discovered that I can use my PS3 controllers, and they work quite well.
However, I am most interested in my original Xbox controllers. I purchased some USB adapters on Ebay last night, but even after searching I am unable to discover whether this will work on Retropie or not.
Has anyone else tried to use ORIGINAL Xbox controllers?

@olafwagner i have them and they work fine. Original and aftermarket.

Thanks for the response.
I just wanted to clarify, by 'original' I mean 'The Original XBox' (in other words the Xbox that existed BEFORE the Xbox 360) and not 'Original Controller' (versus aftermarket).

@olafwagner yes i was talking about the very first xbox as well. the xbox and xbox 360 use the same driver (xboxdrv) i believe as the button layout is identical.
