I am trying to connect a Pi4 to my Sony Trinitron CRT TV. I am using the microphone jack with a cable bought from the Pi Hut. I get no picture however.

      Cable:

I installed the official Retropie build for the Pi4, and it boots fine on my hdmi monitor. I then went into the settings menu and changed it to "composite" output. Tried with two different "a/v to scart blocks" as well.. That is all I did... I must be missing something.. The TV is not registering any signal.

I think your HMDI cable is on the wrong port of the Pi4.

          Eh?

First of all the Pi worked fine with HDMI. Second, the actual problem (the composite signal to my CRT TV) does not use any hdmi port, it uses the mic jack to A/V to Scart.

Pretty sure the black composite to scart adaptor should be switched to "INPUT" ... ie. you're feeding a signal "Into" the the TV (not the other around)

Thanks, did try both however, same result. I am more thinking it is something on the Pi side I need to do.. in software.. anyone out there that actually has done this before?

                Just a question ...

Have you plugged something else in the TV eg. DVD Player, PS2 Console etc to test that everything (TV, Scart Adaptor, Cable) is working ?

@planetdune Does the TV have a front RCA video input ? Try that and see if the signal works. Also, check to the /boot/config.txt has enable_tvout=1 added (should have been added by raspi-config).
