      make sure your Saturn console is in es_systems.cfg

      /etc/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg

      and

      /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg

      in both of those es_systems.cfg files i have the following ...

       <system>
          <name>saturn</name>
          <fullname>Sega Saturn</fullname>
          <path>/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/saturn</path>
          <extension>.chd .cue .mdf .zip .CHD .CUE .MDF .ZIP .img .IMG</extension>
          <command>/opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh 0 _SYS_ saturn %ROM%</command>
          <platform>saturn</platform>
          <theme>saturn</theme>
        </system>

        @dreamcastkid Thanks, yes that's what I meant by config.es. Sorry I've been working on this for hours and I wrote the file name incorrectly, I think I need a break!. I've edited my post to correct the mistake. "saturn" is in both locations of the es_systems.cfg and is exactly as you have shown. If you have any other suggestions I'd be very grateful.

          @t1moth said in Sega Saturn Missing from Console List.:

          setting parse gamelist only to on stopped ES

          Disable this, it will show you only games that have already been registered in a gamelist. Restart EmulationStation and see if the missing systems are present.

            @mitu Thanks, I set it to on to see if that helped. I have since set it back to off and still the missing system does not show up.

              @t1moth Post your es_systems.cfg on pastebin.com and add the link in the forums. What files do you have in your saturn folder ?

                @mitu Thanks, I'll sign up for paste bin and do that. If the problem recurs. I only had a couple of Roms in the Saturn folder, just to test that it worked. They were Batman forever and Exhumed both .chd. Right now I have started again from a fresh clean sd card with Retropie 4.7.1 and I'm going carefully step by step to where the systems disappeared from the ES list. As it stands I have added a few mame roms and the saturn ones I mentioned. Both these systems are showing up. It was when I added more roms and more systems that things went wrong , and I had also changed the theme. I added a load of roms for several systems in one big file transfer last time, and it was when this had finished that the systems were missing. This time I shall proceed more slowly so if it happens again I will know exactly at what point the error occurred. Should that happen I will then share the es_systems.cfg as requested. Thanks for looking at this for me. Whatever happens I will post an update here.

                  You don't need to sign up, you can submit a text without having an account.

                    @mitu Thanks, at the moment there's no point in sharing as I deleted the faulty build and started again. As soon as it goes wrong again I'll paste and share.

                      @mitu Progress update. I have now got all the systems present and working on the default theme. What I have learned is that it is best to take a methodical approach, add one system at a time and check everything is working at each stage. I encountered problems when I changed theme part way through the build so this time I shall leave that until everything else is up and running. I suspect now that the problem I had was that es_systems.cfg at /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg did not have all the file types in the extension tag. I am optimistic that I will be able to complete the build now without needing help. I will post again when the build is complete or if I encounter a problem that I cannot resolve. Thank you for the advice so far.

                        @mitu Happy to report that the build is now compete and all is working. I did have an issue with games disappearing from one system after a scrape but as suspected this was because the file extensions had been lost from es_systems.cfg for some reason and all I had to do was add them again.
