Good free software games for retropie on the Pi Zero?
-
With respect to the detailed pinned post offering links for free content (https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/10918/where-to-legally-acquire-content-to-play-on-retropie), I wondered if anyone has curated or reviewed the available games who can (or who has) recommend(ed) free games for use on RetroPie on a Pi Zero? I have the notion of building solid, purpose-made game consoles with solid, proper joysticks and buttons (eg., MonsterJoysticks) for a few and making a mini arcade, with graphics and decals and the whole bit. But I don't want to irritate the copyright police in the process.
Thank you all very much for your work to date and for any guidance you might toss in my direction.

Considering you mention making multiple of them, are these for reselling?

@crush Nope. Just for me to play with, maybe share with others. Don't want to make things interesting for lawyers at any level.

In that case, i'd keep an eye on GOG, they often give away free games that use SCUMMVM or DOSBOX, which can be played on retropie. (They're licensed to sell the games they're selling)Speaking of SCUMMVM and DOSBOX these platforms also have hundreds of freeware titles available.

And lastly although not free, fanatical.com which is is also a licensed storefront often has the entire Sega collection on sale for roughly 5 bucks.
