EmulationStation loading screen loop
-
When I turn on my RaspPi it gets to the EmulationStation loading screen and the goes tothe following prompt: pi@retropie:" $
I type in emulationstation and it takes me back to the EmulationStation loading screen again. It is stuck in a loop. Any advice? -
Please add more info about your system, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

You're not "stuck at boot screen". EmulationStation is just crashing and sending you back to the terminal. You launch ES and it crashes. You relaunch ES and it crashes. Might I suggest downloading a free official image or using supported hardware?

I am completely new to this sort of thing, how do I find out this information?

How did you install RetroPie ?

I purchased the unit with everything installed. It worked fine for many months and then last week it started the EmulationStation loop.

@alexmoga Then I suggest you ask the seller for support, we don't support 3rd party images in the forums.

@mitu
Thanks for the support. I'll make sure to let anyone that asks me about this sort of thing that it is a bust and they are better spending their money with Nintendo directly. -
I get the desire for a "turn key solution", but it really is easy and very low cost to do this yourself. Granted the legality of ROMs is an issue I won't get into, but learning Linux and how to tweak the files to get things the way you want them is really satisfying. You can do all kinds of cool stuff with RetroPie, EmulationStation, and Retroarch.
