First off I am not sure if this is ok to discuss on this forum. I read rules and did not see anything that said so.

I compiled supermodel emulator on my setup which is the latest official image of retropie.

My problem is that I can not exit the games unless I use a keyboard. My hotkey buttons on the controller do not work. The hotkeys work fine for my other installed emulators/systems etc...

I know this is a problem via the install/compilation that I did.

The way I installed it was each game acts like its own emulator. I have 5 model 3 games installed and each of them is compiled as their own emulator, so to speak.

I installed them in the "Ports" section along with Kodi. So Kodi is installed via retropie and then the supermodel games are also installed in this directory.

WIth that said, Kodi (which I do not use) will not exit either (no matter what I do and I dont care bc I dont use it).

I fully understand that I am messing with a system that even is not listed as experimental with.

I do not need help with supermodel, I ONLY need help if anyone has a suggestion on how I can exit via a hotkey and NOT the keyboard. I am thinking this is more a Supermodel issue and not retropie or the install

Anyway Thanks for reading and any help would be greatly appreciated

      FV

        OK
I figured it out with some off site help.

I was able to compile it by editing the supermodel directory /Src/Input/inputs.cpp

in the input.cpp file you edit the UI Controls line (1st line) for "uiExit"

where it says INPUT_UI, "ESCAPE" you change it to INPUT_COMMON, "NONE"

Then you run the -config-inputs command and map your keys.

The UI Exit should be in the list now to map it.

Now you can exit supermodel from somewhere besides a keyboard.

Here is a youtube link and the guy that helped me. Read the comments and you will get a better understanding
