I try to post on other threads to help and i keep getting an error saying, "As a new user you can only post every 120 seconds until you have earned 3 reputations please wait before posting again."

how do you get reputation? i have helped a few or tried to help a few people and i still dont have any reputation points.

@kcc406 You want to post more than once in every two minutes!? It's there to prevent spamming I guess. If people press the up arrow on your posts, your reputation will grow. If they dislike your post, your reputation will shrink.

Here is an example of a post that will shrink your reputation:

"Hey, I just got retropie but my roms won't start! Whats happening? Please fix this asap."

Here is an example of a post that could increase it:

"Hey, if you disable save metadata on exit, you will not suffer slow shutdown times"

Now the problem you have is that readers might not know that they can thank you with an up arrow if they have been helped. This is documented somewhere in the instructions I seem to recall but the other really big problem is that nobody reads them. Just ask @herb_fargus :)

I've seen you be helpful in the time you've been here. I found two examples and upvoted them. Just don't go spamming anything about diet pills and get me in trouble.
