Hotkey Issue
-
Hi all, searched the forums to no avail. Im a Linux semi noob. Can hold my own with linux yet dont know how to code or do impressive stuff etc.
Ok so i have my Roms set to load from USB, everything was working fine and was using the Select+whatever buttons to access either quicksave / retroarch config etc etc.
Suddenly out of nowhere none of my hotkeys will work inside a rom now. doesnt matter the game or system, i cant quickload or quicksave etc.
I tried to look at the config for retroarch yet everything appeared normal. Obviously this isnt the case though. On another note my psx bios is also no longer recognised.
So i dont know if its an issue with configurations or with retroarch. I really dont want to have to reflash my entire SD card again and set everything up yet again including all my kodi bits. Hoping this is an easy fix. Hoping you can help. Thank you in advance.
Pi Model: (3)
RetroPie Version Used: (Latest)

USB Devices connected: 1 which hosts my roms.
Controller used: PS3 dual shock

Emulator: (PSX) -
Have you tried remapping your controller through Emulation Station?
-
I have indeed. I tried removing my PS3 configuration and drivers, reinstalled them and also remapped them in emulation station.
This has not changed the issue.

I'm having the same issue. Nuked and paved the es_input.cfg file as well as the joypad config files, redid everything, and hotkeys still aren't working.
-
@szumlins deleting es_input.cfg breaks auto configuration. Reset it instead from RetroPie-Setup 4.x in setup / emulationstation

Is this to mean that when you looked at your hotkey button assignments, they matched up to the known button codes of your controller? For example, did you compare the codes in the RetroArch config to the results of running

One way to avoid this in the future is to make regular backups of your SD card, especially before any big changes are made. It has personally saved me from quite a few bad situations in the past. More on this can be found here if your interested.
