Retropie Fast Forward problem

Hi everyone, I'm playing Gameboy Advance Games like Pokemon on my retropie with the simple gpsp emulator, because that's the only one I can open the menu during the game and disable the screen filtering option.
My problem is that I can't find a way to get the fast forward toggle to work. I'm using a Logitech F510 gamepad. I don't know very much about programming the retropie, but can somebody of you guys tell me, how to get this fast forward think to work? That would be great!
