No sound in any games or emulators

Raspberry Pi 4 Model B 2GB RAM
RetroPie version: commit f984e7319171ad63e2032e3ce05c2507718440fd (yesterday?)
Built from the pre-made image on the retropie website
Charging: Motorola Moto X4 brick and USB A to C cable
Controller: Gravis Gamepad Pro
Monitor: Dell U2415

I couldn't say whether I had sound before doing an update. Very briefly at one point I could heard the menu sounds but no longer. At another point for a brief moment I could hear music from Tetris Attack while in-game. I originally tried to use headphones by changing Audio Device to Headphones without any luck using the 3.5 mm jack. I'm currently using HDMI for the Audio Device to the monitor which has a 3.5 mm jack which is known to work with other systems such as the Nintendo Switch.

Current Sound Settings:

Audio Card: Default
Audio Device: HDMI
OMX Player: ALSA

Audio: (0) HDMI 1 - Odd, output should be HDMI 0 the display output closest to the USB C power port
