Digital mini-diplays for buttons?

I'm wondering if anyone is thinking about a way to use small displays to embed in larger sticks that could be configured to display the function of each button and have it change by game. Switch to Defender and immediately know right where Fire, Thrust, Hyperspace and Reverse are. Seems a logical next step. Not like they'd have to be large.
