      Any help that can be provided is greatly appreciated as the Apple 2 is the main reason I am creating a Retropie machine. Currently, when i load either a ROM or 'Master" from the Apple II screen, i go directly to a black screen with a curor in the top left corner. I have followed instructions on changing the conf file but still have the same results, black screen with cursor.

      I am running the newest version 3.8.1 on a Raspberry PI 2.

      Thanks!!

        @aland93 are you loading the rom from emulationstation or from inside the apple ii emulator. You really should go into retropie settings then go into retropie-setup. Update retropie-setup and then find linapple in there and uninstall it then install it. The newer one is so much better and you run the roms from emulationstation. It has improved control settings. If you want to be able to use both buttons on the joystick you need to go into the config file and disable player 2 joystick.

          Awesome, thank you, works like a charm!

          Does it matter if it's installed from binary or source?

          Now I'm playing The Oregon Trail! :-)

            @briankross glad its working. No binary and source shouldnt matter. Also look in /opt/retropie/configs/apple2/linapple.conf and see if it has

            Joy0Index=    0
            Joy1Index=    1

            Plus button and axis configs under that. If not replace that file with the one in /opt/retropie/emulators/linapple
