      Hello,

General question: What can we do with the linapple.conf file?

I've checked the RetroPie Wiki and Linapple at Sourceforge and don't see what can be done.

What I'd like to do is see if I can remove the blue FDD 1, FDD2 and HDD blue overlay box on the bottom right that appears sometimes (when "accessing" the drive?).

      Go Oregon Trail! :-)

Thank you in advance, this is fun.

After updating the linapple emulator, I had to copy linapple.conf from

        /opt/retropie/emulators/linapple/

        to

        /opt/retropie/configs/apple2/

overwriting the old file then configure and save.

I will update the code so if an existing config is there is will make a new one called "linapple.conf.rp-dist" which can be more easily copied over (we don't ever overwrite configs)

Got it thank you! This was advice given to me that worked, my intent was not to spread inaccurate methods.

I've asked this elsewhere recently, but can we change the screenshot directory? It's currently saving to:

            /home/pi/

This is also where a blank copy of linapple.conf is, can we get rid of that now that it's updated?

            Am I missing something?

I don't remember the old version putting a linapple.conf in the homedir ? it uses the .linapple folder there. Was that definitely created from an older version ?

Is the screenshot folder configurable ? If not it may require code changes.

                1. My previous version was directly from v3.8.1 RetroPie SD-Card Image for Raspberry Pi 3. There is a blank linapple.conf in /home/pi/

                2. After updating lineapple yesterday, I don't see a screenshot directory in linapple.conf located in /opt/retropie/emulators/linapple/

Should I not have overwritten the linapple.confin /opt/retropie/configs/apple2/ with the one from /opt/retropie/emulators/linapple/? I have a backup and can revert back.

@briankross no. This is what you were supposed to do. Buzz is going to make an easier method in the future when he isnt doing a bazillion and one other things. ( @BuZz , when do you find time to sleep?) but for now its a method that gets the job done. In fact, i believe he was really helpful and told me this method which is why i could share it with you.

@briankross i tested with 3.8 - never noticed it before, but yeah it makes an empty config when run in /home/pi - I don't think it's worth the script deleting it though, but feel free to remove.

I have changed the launch code, so it changes to the rom directory before launching. This makes the screenshots save there instead.

Wow, amazing! I'm a little new to this, but do I delete and reinstall to update and go from there?

if you are running retropie-setup v4.x then you can update retropie-setup script, and then reinstall linapple from binary.
