I have been away for some time but recently upgraded my Pi 3 B+ to a Pi 4 and was in the process of migrating my RetroPie setup.

Started with a fresh install of RetroPie as I had read on here that the differences in hardware require that.

Migrated all my roms and videos and am noticing that since the introduction of FB Neo as the new default some of the roms needed updating such as Galaga 88 which is now named galaga88.zip instead of galag88.zip

Anyway... thats all working fine but when I observed that the emulation station game info was gone (of course) I was attemping to copy the old data from my emulation station gamelist.xml for galag88 to the newly named galaga88

That is when I realized that galag88 wasnt present in /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/gamelists/arcade/gamelist.xml and after doing a search for all files named gamelist.xml within opt I am seeing that nowhere does such a file exist with galag88 within it, nor does the data that I am seeing within it appear to match what I am seeing in emulation station such as times played.

Did something change with the way this is handled? (did a search on here and am only finding info that seems to indicate that it wasnt changed so even more confused)

EmulationStation looks first in the system's ROM folder for a gamelist.xml, then in the location you mentioned. Check the other location for the file, it's probably there.

@mitu Oh man. I swear I looked there too and somehow overlooked it. Yep thank you once again. ;)
