downloaded doom 2 wad and setup the prboom emulator and the stock doom that comes with it runs fine, but my wad for doom 2, doesnt work and kicks me back into emulationstation a few seconds after launching it. i made a doom2.sh in \RETROPIE\roms\ports with this #!/bin/bash
"/opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh" 0 PORT "doom" "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/doom/doom2/DOOM2.WAD" and placed my wad into the doom folder with no luck and tried making a sub folder doom2 and tried placing it in their as show above but no luck and i have tried other doom wads and the same issue persists -
@kingcosmuder i dont have it on my system just yet, (busy with other ports) but did you try changing DOOM2.WAD, to doom2.wad.
i think that is how it was on my old system

[libretro ERROR] retro_load_game: couldn't read WAD header from '/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/doom/doom2/DOOM2.WAD' [INFO] [Environ]: SET_MESSAGE: ROM loading failed... [ERROR] Failed to load content
Looks like it doesn't like your WAD. Try using another source. I've found one that works; I can't tell you where to get it but I can probably get away with sharing the crc32 and md5sum to help you determine if you've found the right one:
pi@retropie:~/RetroPie/roms/ports/doom/doom2 $ crc32 DOOM2.WAD ec8725db pi@retropie:~/RetroPie/roms/ports/doom/doom2 $ md5sum DOOM2.WAD 25e1459ca71d321525f84628f45ca8cd DOOM2.WAD
