      Pi Model 4
      RetroPie version 4.7.1
      Installed via pre-made image

Hello all, I was wondering if it is possible to uninstall Emulationstation via the Retropie setup script and install a different version through a different source. In particular, the version I am looking at is this one:

      https://github.com/fabricecaruso/batocera-emulationstation

So my question would be, if I install Emulationstation from this source, will it "hook up" to all of the places it needs to in retroarch (configs and such). I went ahead and backed up all of my ES configs just in case. I know it's possible I might break something and that's fine, I just thought I'd ask and see if anybody had any experience with this before hand.

      Thanks.

No, it will not - it won't even start, since it expects the Batocera filesystem layout and it won't be able to create/save the configuration file.
