I'm trying to configure ioJukebox on Attract Mode. Any suggestions?

Re: Music player in both Retropie and Attract Mode (Pi 4B)
I have tried adding ioJukebox by iOtero to the list of emulators I have on the main menu. I'm having a difficult time setting it up properly, however. I have my music files set by Track# - Artist - Song Title.mp3 and the corresponding folders set as Artist - Album Name - Year. The ioJukebox.cfg looks like this:
Generated by Attract-Mode v2.6.1
rompath /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ioJukebox/music
romext .mp3;.mp4
system ioJukebox
exit_hotkey Escape
artwork flyer /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ioJukebox/flyer
artwork marquee /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ioJukebox/marquee
artwork snap /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ioJukebox/snap
artwork wheel /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ioJukebox/wheelThe problem is that when I select a song (after generating the romlist file), it lists the songs I've collected so far, but when you click on any of them you only get a blank screen for a few seconds until it brings you back to the list of songs again. I haven't added any snaps, wheels, marquees, or flyers yet, but I think I placed the files in the correct folders. If anyone has an idea of what I'm doing wrong (maybe iOtero can help), please let me know.
Thank you.

I think the
.cfg
file is missing one important option - theexecutable
one, which instructs the front-end how to play the files. -

You are correct, mitu. I don't know which emulator would actually play those .mp3s though. I already used MapleStory's guide on how to add the .mp3 player so that it automatically plays the songs before you launch and after you exit a game (for the RetroPie frontend). Now I have to find the one for the Attract Mode frontend. If you or anyone can tell me which command to use for the executable line, along with the app that can launch those files, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I though the application is
ioJukebox
? Anyway, you can usevlc
to play MP3/MP4 files, it should be included in RetroPie. To configure a system, you'll have to consult the Attract Mode documentation, I think you can edit a system's configuration using the keyboard - but I haven not used AttractMode so I don't know which is exact sequence of steps.NOTE: I've merged your topics - please don't open new topics just to reply to an existing topic.

@mitu ioJukebox is only a theme that you place inside the layout folder. I don't think it uses an executable file. In that case, I may have to use your suggestion to launch it with vlc. I will attempt to do that if there's no other option. Do you know which command should be used? Thanks for your input.

vlc

@mitu I'll take the commands for both. I should have at least one of them installed. I will load up Retropie and take a look at the packages I have available.

I was able to type 'vlc' into the command prompt and saw that it was available. I'm not sure if ioJukebox works on Attract Mode, as it produced an error attempting to load the layout.nut file. If anyone has ideas on what to do next or if I could use another media player, I'd be willing to try it. I also looked into Fruitbox, but it only works on the Pi Zero, 1, 2, and 3 models only.
